Nose: Grassy and herbal with basil, parsley, and mint. Touches of oil paint and fresh oyster. Pear drop, mint humbug, apple, and white sugar. Hints of straw, uncooked grain, and toffee ice cream.
Palate: Full. Juicy summer fruits up-front – strawberry, raspberry, and a little nectarine. Milk chocolate-coated caramels. Ice cream turns rum-raisin. Corn fritter. Hints of nutmeg and dried basil.
Finish: Medium. On rum-raisin ice cream and a hint of nuttiness.
Comment: Lovely complexity that begs a little time to explore in depth.

Taster
Nose: Distinctive floral notes of elderflower, dandelion, and cooked blueberry at first, that slowly dissipate. Then pear drop and beeswax. A whiff of engine oil. Vanilla essence and toffee. Underneath, hot mash and freshly baked bread and butter.
Palate: Very full. Waxy, like real honeycomb. Toffee apple and hazelnut. Fruit cake with lots of candied citrus peels. An oiliness, like high-quality olive oil.
Finish: Medium-long. The hazelnut note and waxiness persist.
Comment: This one evolves wonderfully in the glass. It’s an excellent dram.
Score: 8.5
