Taster

Nose: Melon and Parma ham, a little unsmoked bacon and toasted coconut. Sherry-soaked Christmas cake and sponge fingers. Brandy butter and ginger snap biscuits in time.

Palate: Full on Christmas cake spices and sherry-soaked raisins. Purple Chewit sweets, Liquorice Allsorts. Hints of orange zest too.

Finish: Long and spicy, with cinnamon and cloves slowly drying.

Comment: If Bertie Basset made whisky, awesome stuff.

Score: 8.9

Taster

Nose: Powdered sugar, grapefruit zest, ripe melon, stewed plums and sugared almonds, clementine flesh and freshly grated nutmeg.

Palate: Big fruity notes of melon, mango, apricot, ripe peach flesh and then lots of powdery spices including ground ginger, nutmeg and Szechuan pepper.

Finish: Dried chilli powder and white pepper prickle give way to drying tannins.

Comment: Lovely. Really nuanced spice with a luscious, fruity core as well.
