Nose: Apples in custard, pear drops, rhubarb and custard sweets. A hint of gentle smoke. Honey flapjacks. Banana bread and butter.
Palate: Sweetness comes all in one hit, orange sherbet, lemon drizzle cake and then some exotic spices. A little salted chilli too.
Finish: Spices and tannins pull at the side of the mouth. Cloudy apple cider.

Taster
Nose: Butterscotch leads the way, then fresh oak, lemon oil and white grapes. Then clean, grassy notes like grass meadows and fresh sheets, ripe corn kernels and a hefty whack of honeydew melon tropical fruit.
Palate: Pear pastries and gooseberry fool; greengage jam on freshly baked scones. The buttery mouthfeel beckons in vanilla, rosewater and melon.
Finish: Round, tropical fruit notes of melon linger, long and buttery.
Comment: This is an absolute stunner: buttery, delicious and nuanced. Near perfect.
Score: 9.6
