A very well-balanced dram with some complexity that I could easily return to again and again.

Nose: Very ripe pineapple, papaya juice, and pencil shavings. A pleasant whiff of felt-tip pen, then golden syrup and granola with sultanas and candied citrus peels.
Palate: Light-medium. Wholemeal toast with butter and a thick layer of apricot jam. Blood orange juice and more golden syrup. Subtle white and citrus florals. Pistachio, Medjool dates and dried figs.
Finish: Long. Malted milk biscuit emerges with time.
Comment: A very well-balanced dram with some complexity that I could easily return to again and again.

Taster
Nose: Crusty bread with salted butter and orange marmalade. Caramelised peanuts and sultanas, granola-like. Fresh black cherry and raspberry. Coconut cream. Nice malty, yeasty backbone.
Palate: Medium bodied. Nutty flapjacks and golden syrup. Sourdough French toast with cinnamon and clove egg custard. Pears and mandarin in fruit cocktail syrup. Milk chocolate-wrapped honeycomb.
Finish: Medium, on golden syrup, chamomile tea, and a hint of yeast extract.
Comment: Its spicy and savoury flashes kept the intrigue up.
Score: 7.9
