Nose
Elegant and perfumed. Maple syrup and tarte tatin, sultana and a little cardamom. Polished oak furniture. The oak spice beautifully balances the stewed orchard fruits and caramel.
Palate
Silky, with lots of that stewed fruit up front, before pleasant umami. Chestnut mushroom and salted cashew. Then really chewy caramels.
Finish
This is long and gently drying.
Comment
The definition of a refined after-dinner dram.
