Nose: Clean and light. Red apple, sweet hay, vanilla, buttered popcorn/rice cakes.
Palate: A sweet and soft start. All very gentle and pretty much straight down the middle.
Finish: Light.
Comment: Attractive enough but hardly complex.
Score: 6.8
Taster
Nose: Sweet and intense. Almond cake. A hint of varnish. Barley sugar. Waxed floors. Plum compote. Rich sherry notes. Raisins, a touch of marmalade.
Palate: Fat, creamy, velvety, fruity. Stays on the sweet side. Stewed plums with ginger.
Finish: Not very assertive. Aromas quickly dwindle. Becomes sappy and somewhat astringent.
Comment: Doesn't deliver the promise of the nose. Surprisingly smooth for a fairly high alcohol strength.
Score: 7.3
