Taster

Nose: Chopped peanuts, store-brand cola with a slice of orange, raspberry jam, and Christmas mincemeat with lots of candied peels.

Palate: Medium-bodied. Fresh red apple, candied orange, milk chocolate, more peanut, and toffee. Blackberry jam on buttered toast, then the same with marmalade.

Finish: Medium. The toffee and Cadbury’s Fruit and Nut notes intensify.

Comment: A textbook ‘everyday’ after-dinner dram.

Score: 7.9

Taster

Nose: Surround-sound orange notes up front – the peel, pith, flesh, and pips – with a gentle, warm farmyard-like note. Ripe banana and rice pudding sprinkled with shaved milk chocolate. Hints of sultana and papaya.

Palate: Light-medium. Tropical fruit notes of passion fruit, mango pulp, overripe banana, and a hint of crystallised pineapple, followed by orange polenta cake and a hint of cinnamon-spiced apple compote.

Finish: Medium-long. On dried mango and subtle milk loaf.

Comment: A tropical delight.
