Hang on! Is that a single malt with a rum finish or a good rum matured in a bourbon cask? An exemplary phagocytosis or a magical trick. But we wanted whisky!

Nose: Immediate rum aromas. The ones of a 'grand arôme'
Palate: Sweet at start then very spicy. Cane syrup infused with spices. Touch of eucalyptus.
Finish: Rummy, rummy, rummy.
Comment: Hang on! Is that a single malt with a rum finish or a good rum matured in a bourbon cask? An exemplary phagocytosis or a magical trick. But we wanted whisky!
Nose: Very plain and very rum-like. Good pungent Jamaican high ester lift, wet cane, pineapple. Lightly oily phenols. Lots of acetone.
Palate: This is all rum and a pretty decent rum at that. Water shows light smoke but it is all to do with wet cane, molasses and punchiness.
Finish: Finally some smoke. Slightly medicinal.
Comment: This is a great drink but seems more like a whisky finished rum than the other way around, so have marked it accordingly.
