Nose: Slightly cheesy and butyric. Sour fruit. The first butyric note gets covered by\rnicer aromas. Cider apple.
Palate: Crisp, dry. The sour note is there, integrated into dry oak. Dried\rkumquat peel.
Finish: Dry with medjoul dates.
Comment: The unpleasant note at first nose goes away. A rich and deep matured whisky which brings out memories of invigorating walks in the woods on a\rcold frosty morning.

Taster
Nose: Rich and mysterious and evidently of considerable age. Dried mint, dark\rchocolate with rich fondant sweetness, but also fig and Assam tea.
Palate: Its age anchors it firmly on the tongue. The Seville orange re-emerges\ralongside eucalptus and coal smoke.
Finish: Rich, crepuscular.
Comment: Amazingly lively for such an age, and that coal smoke is a signature of\rdistillery character still hanging on in there.
Score: 9
