Tasting Notes

Martine Nouet

Taster

Nose: Sylvestry. Wet leaves, humus. Cooked mushrooms. Chicken broth. With aeration, carries on creamier notes. Vanilla custard.

Palate: Round, almost syrupy. Then orange marmalade. Stem ginger.

Finish: Warm. Oaky, bitter orange.

Comment: A good development, even if astringence shows up at times.

Score: 7.8

Taster

Nose: Singed grass moving into sulphur (boiled cabbage). Earthy with some estery notes, black peppercorn, nuts.

Palate: Clean and rounded and vanilla soft from the oak with pumpkin seed crispness coming from the cereal.

Finish: Finishes half way up the palate.

Comment: A theme seems to be emerging. Light spirit, plenty of oak, not long enough in cask to mellow.
