Taster

Nose: There is real depth in the glass here with a balance that isn’t undermined by weak grain vanilla nor over-powered by heavy malt. A touch of spice gives this extra body.

Palate: Great oaky flavour which doesn’t suggest old age, but gives a good slug \nof cask influence. Over time a Bourbon cherry ‘Old Fashioned’ note appears.

Finish: And that Old Fashioned note carries on to the finish. This could almost be a bottled cocktail.

Comment: The perfect Old Fashioned whiskey, simply open and pour!

Taster

Nose: Charred oak and coffee with thick, oily peat. Tar, creosote and burnt herbs follow. The corn gives weight to the aromas and with time a touch of cinder toffee and dark chocolate.

Palate: Sweet, oaky and vanilla with oily corn, followed by salt, peat, coffee and tar. Well balanced with a touch of treacle, smoked meat, bitter chocolate and lightly medicinal herbs.

Finish: Long with the charred oak returning but the tar, smoke and treacle lingers.

Comment: A blend of peated malt and Bourbon? Very odd, but it works surprisingly well.
