Nose

Youthful, estery, oily. Sweet barley, pineapple chunks, apricot and acacia. Citrus notes add freshness and balance the oils. With time, American oak.

Palate

Opens with young, oily apricot and barley with citrus and mineral notes. A light sherbet character. Quite herbal on the middle. Pleasantly deep and full.

Finish

Long and lightly gristy with the citrus and minerality making the finish feel a little austere, although the oils counter to a certain extent.

Comment

Young, characterful malt which will be fascinating to see how this develops if given more time in the cask.
