Young, characterful malt which will be fascinating to see how this develops if given more time in the cask.

Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Youthful, estery, oily. Sweet barley, pineapple chunks, apricot and acacia. Citrus notes add freshness and balance the oils. With time, American oak.

Palate: Opens with young, oily apricot and barley with citrus and mineral notes. A light sherbet character. Quite herbal on the middle. Pleasantly deep and full.

Finish: Long and lightly gristy with the citrus and minerality making the finish feel a little austere, although the oils counter to a certain extent.

Comment: Young, characterful malt which will be fascinating to see how this develops if given more time in the cask.

Score: 8.5

Taster

Nose: Light, bright corn, toasted grain, and straw, followed by creamy vanilla.

Palate: A flash of sweetness to start, with notes reminiscent of boiled sweets and \nlight apple, followed by a much longer-lasting flavour of dry, fresh wood.

Finish: A light finish of dry cream soda and rolled oats.

Comment: A no nonsense, robust spirit that is engaging in its simplicity. Elementary, but enjoyable.
