Nose: Straight off dark chocolate-coated blood orange slices with cracked black pepper. A herbal quality to it, chilli, cardamom and paprika. There’s sweetness too with caramel pennies. Wood smoke lurks.
Palate: Sea salt caramel ice cream, plenty of vanilla punctuated by a dry chilli heat. That black pepper builds with a smoky edge too. There is saline and maritime edge to this.
Finish: Plenty of sea salt crackers and sweet fruit cake here mixed with a lovely peated note.
Comment: Simply lovely, one to open and take all night to savour.

Taster
Nose: Raspberry sherbet, key lime pie and coconut oil all wrapped up in white pepper and rock salt. Ginger beer, crystallised orange slices and Turkish Delight.
Palate: Stewed tea leaves, dark chocolate coated coffee beans and bonfire embers with a somewhat medicinal finish. A bit like washing down a paracetamol with orange juice and possibly a cigarette.
Finish: Somewhat bitter, but with a fruity and smoky component closing the deal.
Comment: Having a rough morning breakfast with Tom Waits.
Score: 8.9
