Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Cloudy apple juice, pear drops, and both banana- and peach-flavoured candies. Raspberry jam spread on wholemeal toast, then hazelnut and milk chocolate. White sage, sandalwood, mandarin juice with lemon, black tea, and chinotto orange.

Palate: Medium-full. Very concentrated fruits. Sweet and sour lemon and lime candies, San Pellegrino chino drink, milk chocolate chip cookie. Subtly creamy and herbal, with a dose of ‘old whisky funk’.

Finish: Long. Maple and subtle spearmint.

Comment: It’s like whisky concentrate, yet all the elements are balanced.

Score: 8.6

Taster

Nose: Herbaceous at first, with a note of hot tyre rubber. Slight barbecued pineapple and a little pork fat. Bright grain notes, like freshly harvested barley. A hint of lemon peel.

Palate: Medium. Golden syrup and sliced ripe pear, with a hint of pear drop and lemon boiled sweets. Oat cracker. Wholewheat bread with sage butter. Crunchy, green note of parsley stalk underneath.

Finish: Medium. Herbal notes turn to green tea with honey.

Comment: An enticing swing from savoury, to sweet, then back to savoury.
