Tasting Notes

Rob Allanson

Taster

Nose: A huge bowl of fruit, slowly ripening with an overripe black banana in there. Powerful and fragrant. Malted barley and toffee pennies. Some hints of sea water and hot stones, fresh toasted marshmallows.

Palate: Those fruit notes continue with glacé cherries and sugar syrup. Banana split in liquid form: ripe bananas, cream and strawberry sauce.

Finish: Keeps going for a while with all those fruits crashing around.

Comment: The liquid equivalent of tropical fruit salad with Tip Top cream topping.

Score: 8.7

Taster

Nose: Peppermint milk chocolates, linseed oil, roasted hazelnuts and grapefruit zest. Hints of smoky bacon crisps, soft tones of baked peaches and Madagascan vanilla ice cream.

Palate: Peaches in syrup with a delicate nuttiness of granola, Nutella and crispy nougat. Coconut oil, hot steamed milk, red grapes.

Finish: Fresh and fragrant with a bitter, nutty finish.

Comment: A well balanced example of floral, fruits and nuttiness. A Speysider that does exactly what it says on the tin.
