Nose: A subtle and very mineral forward nose. Hot stones on the sea shore. A touch of paraffin wax and Barbour jackets. A saline note comes through, cotton shirts you have been swimming in.
Palate: Big spices up front, char grilled peppers and cracked black pepper. Raisins in honey. A bacon fatty edge too.
Finish: Long, long and long. Slightly waxy with plenty of those spices and crack pepper notes.
Comment: Like passing an overly perfumed person on the beach, floral and saline meet.
Score: 8.9
Taster
Nose: Afternoon tea with sugar dusted Victoria sponges, lemon tarts and cucumber sandwiches. Juicy artificial fruity notes with foam bananas and polo fruits with earthy undertones too.
Palate: Heather honey, salted cookie dough and lemon curd on burnt toast followed by bursts of brambles, raspberry syrup and lavender.
Finish: A buttery consistency dries the palate and lengthens the finish.
Comment: The perfect afternoon tea. Sweet. Savoury. Just like that guilty lick of the cake covered knife.
Score: 8.8
