Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Touch of solvent taking us back to Mr B&Q ( a UK hardware store - ED) but saved by a quirky dustiness and smoke. Water brings out fresh cow pats. Linoleum. A little unformed.

Palate: Hickory smoke, peanut with extra caramel on top. Very long, smooth and sweet. Balanced with intense peat.

Finish: Char and toffee.

Comment: At their best, these are approachable, easy-drinking whiskies. This is a good example.

Score: 7.9

Nose: Toffee apple, fermenting fruit, soft banana.

Palate: Intense fruit and sweet spice, banana skin, some chocolate.

Finish: Chocolate banana, quite long and very pleasant.

Comment: Completes an impressive and varied collection of youths from this bottler. Bravo!
