ABV 40%
Like Finlaggan, this must come from one of the Islay distilleries. It seems bigger, more rounded, but less assertive, than Finlaggan.

Nose: Fino sherry? Saltiness. Grassy peatiness.
Palate: Silky, malty. Herbal fruitiness and bitterness, and some pepper.
Finish: Grassy and peaty again. Oily. Very late seaweedy medicinal touch.
Comment: Like Finlaggan, this must come from one of the Islay distilleries. It seems bigger, more rounded, but less assertive, than Finlaggan.

Taster
Nose: Like Tobermory, another dram offering pre-pubescent peatiness; green and raw.
Palate: The type of peaty malt usually seen only in blends. The intensity is overwhelming, with only limited oak to offer complexity. Big malt.
Finish: Peaty. Hasn't extracted sweetness from the oak so gristy greenness is unchecked.
Comment: This is fun stuff, a rare chance to taste a high-quality peaty malt at a relatively young age.
Score: 7.5
