Taster

Nose: Hides behind its ABV to start with, but in time cherry, marzipan and layers of buttered pastry emerge. Vanilla custard and raisin-laden suet pudding follow. A punch of rye spices and cumin, chilli prickle.

Palate: Wonderful and sweet, a soft lavender floral note pervades everything. Cherry pipe tobacco and then red strawberry laces. Cherry pie with hot custard, nutmeg and cinnamon.

Finish: A slow burner, with that lavender floral edge taking everything.

Comment: Kentucky is turning out some fine whiskeys at the moment and long may it last.

Taster

Nose: Buttered corn on the cob, polished mahogany, milk chocolate raisins and petroleum. Pineapple cubes and Haribo strawberries. Rounded up with mango sorbet.

Palate: A rollercoaster ride of barbecued mango skin, roasted figs and sandalwood. Honeycomb pieces drizzled with hot passionfruit coulis to the sweetness of French onion soup.

Finish: Long and malty. Add water to bring out some super peachiness.

Comment: Keeps you guessing. Bartender, another please!
