Nose

An intense aroma of Ribena (blackcurrant cordial) and coffee with condensed milk. Then comes the spicy zing of barbeque sauce. Water is needed to tame this and with that comes nutmeg and cinnamon.

Palate

Coffee liqueur, toffee, milk chocolate, hickory and Brazil nut. Has quite a kick to it.

Finish

Medium-short and hot. With water the heat diminishes and allows those caramels to linger.

Comment

Takes some taming. Once under control it’s simple and pleasant enough. I’d like to try this in an Old Fashioned.
