More wood-extract, or sherry, than I remember. I prefer a drier expression.
Aged 16 Years
Islands (Non Islay)
Standard (Distillery or blended)
Nose: Freshly chopped pine trees. Ferns. Forest floor.
Palate: Dryish. Vegetal. Ground coriander. Fiddlehead ferns. Rhubarb.
Finish: Sea tastes: sweetness and saltiness, with the latter overwhelmingly the winner. Long.
Comment: More wood-extract, or sherry, than I remember. I prefer a drier expression.
Nose: Gutsy, citrus and oaky notes. Cracker bread/Ryvita. Water brings out orange and very malty qualities; some hessian. A touch metallic?
Palate: Medium sweet. There's good interplay between dry (wood/malt) and sweet fruits. Mid weight.
Comment: Surprisingly young for a 16 year-old.
