Nose: Soft at first. Paper bags with caramel toffees, dark maple syrup, warm rye bread. Layers of banana, toffee and digestive biscuits. Quite intense floral notes, almost lilac.
Palate: Pretty much follows the nose with sweetness and that crunchy malt edge. Gentle hints of smoked sea salt and chocolate.
Finish: Really gentle at first and quite short but it hides a layer of ash and wood smoke that rises just at the end.
Comment: Shrimp kebabs by the sea, BBQs on the beach, but not quite at the height of summer season.

Nose: Liquorice sweets and worn out car brakes surrounded by aromas of freshly baked pumpkin pie, crème fraiche and olbas oil. Tin foil wrapped peanut butter and raspberry jam sandwiches appear.
Palate: A selection of smoked nuts, sugar snap peas and over brewed peppermint tea begin the show with hints of burnt out rubber and hot wheat biscuits.
Finish: A warm, comforting finish with a lingering smoke.
Comment: Like licking smoked peanut butter off a mahogany table. Socially awkward but very tempting.
Score: 8.9
