Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: A fruit stall in the summer. Sweet warm citrus notes, red apple skins and juicy melons. Rhubarb crumble with cinnamon and nutmeg. a hint of marmalade too.

Palate: More fruit and berries. That slight tart note from rhubarb comes through. The spices are lurking, as is a little oak.

Finish: Very morish with those spices giving a wonderful drying effect.

Comment: Perfectly in balance with so much fruit it's untrue.

Score: 8.4

Taster

Nose: Malty. Sweet vanilla syrup. Belgian waffle. Opens on stewed fruit. Apples, pears and medlars. Autumnal scents. Buttery too. Granny’s baking!

Palate: Sweet and flowing. Silky. The same autumn fruit poached in a spicy mix of cloves, cinnamon and ginger.

Finish: Spicy, drying. Medium long.

Comment: A well knitted fruity whisky. The perfect companion of a scrumptious Tarte Tatin. Water enhanced some bitter oak. Better neat.
