Nose: Full on sweetness from the start; chocolate pennies, caramel wafer bars, sherbet dibdaps, hints of marzipan and icing sugar too.
Palate: The tannins from the oak come through slowly, taking over the sweetness. In time, becomes a little like tiramisu: coffee, cream and a little liqueur.
Finish: Big and punchy, but then fades, leaving a cream and liqueur edge.
Comment: Another belter from Taiwan that is well worth looking out for.

Nose: Opening the door to an old fashioned sweetie shop – green apple laces, Irn Bru bars, liquorice and rows of freshly polished mahogany shelves.
Palate: Charred oak, toasted rosemary and freshly brewed coffee dominates. Baked apples and peaches with cherry ice cream begin to appear with the addition of water.
Finish: As the heat tails off, the finish dries into a chalky texture.
Comment: The perfect combination for a coffee and apple pie break.
Score: 8.5
