Nose

Really interesting: there’s some peppermint and wood glue at first, but that subsides to reveal lots of fruit: red grapes, freeze-dried raspberries, and warm pineapple.

Palate

That woodiness returns on the palate, but underneath it is lots of blackberries, liquorice, dark honey, and pink peppercorns.

Finish

Slight toffee sweetness and fairly quick finish.

Comment

An interesting whisky but felt the wood was hiding some of those more complex aromas and flavours a touch.
