Nose: Lots of pink notes of strawberry jam, cherry cola and Tunes. Cinnamon Danish pastries and lapsang souchong tea with a hint of dried lavender.
Palate: Brimstone and scorched earthy heather. Pulled pork with hickory on the barbeque, then redcurrant jelly, pomegranate and cinnamon topped coffee. \n
Finish: Hot and fiery.
Comment: A huge big bruiser - quite a showstopper!
Score: 8.9
Taster
Nose: Medicinal with a subtle wood smoke and soft brown sugar.
Palate: An explosion in a medicine factory kicks this off. Then we’re into some dark spicy wood, charred meat, liquorice, some oily treacle and malt extract. Water helps to separate the more overpowering notes.
Finish: The smoke is very dense and fogs the palate for a long time.
Comment: Yes, this is big and bold, but there is some relative depth to it. Take it to a bonfire on 5th November. You can always use it to help ignite the display, should you find fault.
Score: 8.2
