Taster

Nose: Wowsers, that’s interesting. Wholemeal crackers, toasted sourdough bread. Green olives and aubergine. Massively herbal, earthy, with sage and bay leaves. Pine needles. I’m lost in the woods.

Palate: Toasted notes, with walnuts and hazelnuts. Dark chocolate and damsons and elderberry. Wheat, light spices. Sun-dried tomatoes. Peppermint, and oak. Redcurrants.

Finish: Long, chewy, nutty and nutmeg,. The mint continues, with traces of black tea.

Comment: Completely off the radar. Massively brave character. Love it.

Taster

Nose: Creamy goat’s cheese, orange blossom water. Watermelon sour sweets, plasticine and wandering round a farmyard – hay ricks. Sweetness of buttered flapjack and rye bread.

Palate: Sweetness at first then a big hit of spicy rye pep. Juice fruit chewing gum and a little lime zest zips through.

Finish: Pretty long and rich. Oak hits first then a wave of lime chocolate sweets develops.

Comment: Seriously interesting whisky. A little left field, feels young but nothing wrong with that. Will keep you talking about it for a while.
