ABV 40%
Ah grain, often overlooked but even at 40% it’s got a lot going on.

Nose: Takes its time to open but then it’s full-on hot cornbread with butter, sweetcorn cakes with chilli jam. Powdered sugar sweetness, and a gentle oak grip too.
Palate: The sweetcorn theme continues with that corn bread element, but also little hits of spice like popping candy come through. Has a buttery oiliness to it.
Finish: A little heat tickle then it gives in to that mix of sweet and savoury goodness.
Comment: Ah grain, often overlooked but even at 40% it’s got a lot going on.

Taster
Nose: Quite guarded. Sawn oak, vanilla, crayons and wet clay. Toasty oak notes.
Palate: Very light. Lots of vanilla, a little green apple. Milk chocolate and a touch of wheat flake and cinnamon. Caramel biscuit and some popcorn.
Finish: Medium length. Biscotti and some crème pâtissière.
Comment: Light and easy going.
Score: 7.3
