Nose
Leafy and autumnal, a little menthol. Carrot cake then heads a little meaty – pork and lemon kebabs with lime mayo, then warming charcoal. With water there’s a salt note too, smoky.
Palate
A little prickle from the alcohol, then vanilla ice cream and wafers. Strawberries and dark chocolate.
Finish
Hot and the tannins kick right in, however water draws the finish out and increases all the sweetness.
Comment
A delightful single malt, something for the hip flask and the hills. Will certainly keep you warm.
