Nose

Earthy. Black treacle, liquorice, tar, unwashed coffee beans and wood bark. Some cigar box aromas and pomegranate juice.

Palate

Medium-light. Cherry brandy, dark chocolate sauce over blackberries, and a slab of fruit cake with a milky coffee on the side.

Finish

Long, on the fruit cake notes. Subtle hickory.

Comment

Some very solid and indulgent flavours in here that make it very drinkable. Takes water well, which dials up the syrupy notes, though it doesn’t develop further.
