Old wood, barley extract, and gingery-rich bready aromas like sweet rye bread, pumpernickel, or slightly scorched hot cross buns. This has the deep, sweet aromas of treacle cake, burnt sugar, or barley wine.
Stewed fruits, apples and raisins soaked in fortified wine. Dense, like fruit cake or Jamaica cake with salted butter.
A medium-length finish full of both wood and alcohol astringency, with a peppery spiciness and toasted bread.
Some lovely rich notes, but it has a wort-like whiff.
