Really interesting stuff, does make you want more once the finish dies away though.

Nose: Heading into the hay rack on a hot summer’s day. Farmyard notes and a little leathery edge. Bonfire night toffee sweets and pomegranate syrup.
Palate: The sweetness backs off a little, opening the way for those bonfire treacle toffee notes, moving to a sticky brown sugar sweetness.
Finish: Long, sticky and it manages to just keep on going and going.
Comment: Really interesting stuff, does make you want more once the finish dies away though.

Taster
Nose: Funky and earthy like a rhum agricole, or sticky toffee pudding left on the floor of a barn. Looking past the funk there’s sticky dried fruits – figs, prunes and dates, alongside molasses and black treacle.
Palate: Not quite as sweet as the nose suggests although the mustiness remains. The texture is oily with a tar-like quality, while the palate is treacle and burnt digestive biscuits.
Finish: Thick, rummy and lingering.
Comment: Dense, funky and fun, an intriguing Australian treat with a hint of Tasmanian peat.
Score: 8.9
