Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Germoline, hot bitumen (two-lane blacktop), smoked meat. With water the smoke becomes more subtle and a creamy maltiness appears.

Palate: Soft and pretty sweet, ripe pear, malt and understated smokiness. Good balance.

Finish: Smoky, medium length.

Comment: A cheeky wee monkey. Lively.

Taster

Nose: Distinct burning grass. Maillard reaction. Caramelised onions.

Palate: The morning toast overdone, and burned at the edges, but still appetising.

Finish: Onion marmalade.

Comment: That wasn't breakfast toast after all. It was melba toast, with a game pate. Or better still, a mousseline.
