Taster

Nose: What a surprise! Briny, leather, currants, reminding me of being by the sea. Definitely oily and waxy with deep malty notes.

Palate: A delicacy, sweet barley, biscuits, freshly buttered toast, a bit of almond moving into orange and cacao nibs without ever forgetting the presence of this fine brine and faint smoke.

Finish: Oily and full bodied, crisp and oaky iodine.

Comment: Enjoyable, from the first whiff to the last sip. One I could sip endlessly by a fire.

Score: 8.4

Taster

Nose: Classic, dusty, very mature, grippy but soft sherrywood tannins with Armagnac-esque prune, plum, raisin, sweet red grape, orange and walnut. French coffee, dusty violets and incense. Moist and juicy with a light coastal note. Subtle smoke, spices.

Palate: Mature, dried plum, prune, raisin in dark chocolate and soft sherrywood tannins. Violet potpourri, incense and oodles of dusty sherry spices.

Finish: Great length with the lightly salted dried fruit and sweet, violet incense and dusty peat lingering.

Comment: I’m lost for words!
