Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Relatively shy, light and bright. Vanilla ice cream, Eton mess, orchard fruit – especially apples. Lemon peel, pine wood and granola.

Palate: Plenty of creamy vanilla. White marshmallows drizzled with salted caramel sauce, topped with that granola. The initial sweetness turns salty and slightly green and sappy.

Finish: Apple crumble, pine and evaporated milk.

Comment: For fans of American oak.

Taster

Nose: Baked apples in golden syrup. Vanilla custard. An undercurrent of maltiness. (Sounds generic, but it’s lovely). Once the sweetness fades, there’s a strong expression of malted barley, and herbal.

Palate: Apples, toffee, a little malted barley. Grassy, or rather leafy. Green tea and lemon, with a hint of honey. I wouldn’t say that the low ABV opens it up.

Finish: Grassy, with a little creamy vanilla, and a hint of black pepper.

Comment: One for newcomers, I think they tell us these days.
