Nose

Initially almost smells of the seaside — there’s a fresh air aroma, alongside a bit of sea salt and fairground sweet stalls. Toffee-covered apples, campfire, and pain au raisin follows.

Palate

More smoke than the nose hints. A lot of depth, with fudge and caramel nuts. Smoke increases with water and lemon peel emerges.

Finish

Ashy bitterness with a lingering bright sweetness akin to aspartame.

Comment

A surprising dram in that the smoke is fairly hidden at first.
