Hello sherry bomb… they seem so few and far between these days, especially of this calibre.

Taster
Nose: Rich, thick and unctuous. Dark orange marmalade, the good stuff, clove spices with cinnamon and then very gentle wood smoke, like putting a new log on dying embers.
Palate: Those clove and cinnamon spices are here too, but tempered with some vanilla oak layers. Dried apricot and pineapple come through.
Finish: Really takes its time with plenty of black tea tannins and rich sherry influenced notes.
Comment: Hello sherry bomb… they seem so few and far between these days, especially of this calibre.

Taster
Nose: Warm, creamy notes with a metallic edge of butterscotch fudge, copper shavings and coconut yoghurt. Barbecued bananas, crème fraiche with honey and a can of Ting.
Palate: That metallic note carries through. It sits alongside flavours of torched grapefruit peel, rosemary sea salt flakes and lemon curd.
Finish: One tangy and tart whisky going on here. Aluminium foil and parmesan cheese joining in.
Comment: This is taking no prisoners on the old tastebuds.
Score: 8.7
