Standard (Distillery or blended)
Nose: Takes time to open, then cold hay barn, a little plaster, then rose and heather, with very light runny honey and cooked corn.
Palate: Very light, pencil eraser, corn oil and more of that drying hay. Dusty heather and almost minty heat, followed by dates and a little jam tart.
Finish: Relatively short and dry, with struck matches and more dates.
Comment: It did take quite a lot to get into this and for me there’s not quite enough to keep my taste buds entertained.
Nose: Blueberry slushy and cherry drop, delicate citra hop and and malt beer. Dried limes and a whiff of cardamom. Honey water, too.
Palate: Very light bodied. Vanilla and icing sugar, blueberry and green apple. Perhaps a little sweet cake.
Finish: Short with some subtle bread notes with apple skin.
Comment: Simple, delicate and somewhat pleasing, but lacking personality.
