A winter warmer… or spring warmer works right now, too. Not massively complex but still yummy.
No age statement
Standard (Distillery or blended)
Nose: Cream soda and honey up front, almost like beeswax. It’s quite spirity and warming up first. Spicy mince pie, ripe apple skin, leading towards peaches and cream.
Palate: Oily rich mouthfeel, resin notes, fruit cake richness with cherry, raisins, with some buttery texture, ginger spice and that light creamy peach.
Finish: Really warm medium finish, with that ginger spice and rich fruit.
Comment: A winter warmer… or spring warmer works right now, too. Not massively complex but still yummy.
Nose: Fresh peaches and apricots, foam banana sweets and over-ripe papaya. Icing sugar sweetness and blueberry cordial. Underneath it all some sourdough bread.
Palate: Medium body and well balanced. The fruits and banana candies are back, with subtle creaminess, red apple and a little tannin bite. That sugar-frosted sweetness makes a return.
Finish: Medium. Fades on red apple skin.
Comment: A breakfast fruit plate that I’d be happy to order again.
