Taster

Nose: Elegant, harmonious and soft. Runny honey, cherry, peach/apricot, butter icing/cream and fresh wild herbs.

Palate: Ripe, soft, creamy and fruit-filled: cherries and peaches in honey syrup with dusting of nutmeg and cinnamon.

Finish: Soft then crisps up.

Comment: Chewy and mellow. Great balance and elegance. Still a classic.

Taster

Nose: Slightly smoky. Toasty. Maple syrup.

Palate: Creamy. Nutty. flapjack. Dryish. Clean. Smooth.

Finish: Slightly fruity, winey (Muscat). Some acidity.

Comment: This famously smooth whisky seems slightly less sweet than I remember, especially in the nose and finish. Better balanced, but perhaps fractionally less distinctive.
