Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Odd, slightly ‘off’ nose akin to garden compost, wet coal and slight touch of grease/wax. Water makes it chewier and more toffee like.

Palate: Distinct improvement, mixing of dry spice, brazil nut, concentrated fruits. Needs water to soften the impact and allow scented candle flavours to develop: lavender, cherry, cassis.

Finish: Toasty. Medium-length.

Comment: Atypically consistent example from Clynelish.

Score: 7.6

Taster

Nose: Fungal, herbal. Perfumy, complex. A rich aromatic display. Hazelnut toffee.

Palate: Smooth and clean.Sweet maltiness teamed with a pleasant fresh mintiness. Apricot in the back. Then spices tease the tongue.Ginger, espelette chilli.

Finish: Dry, with a sweet macadamia after taste.

Comment: A pleasant dram, well balanced and rich. To suit salmon sushi.
