Pleasant. A little heavy on the oak, but that's just picking holes really!

Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: A subtle, yet evocative nose of lightly straw-like apricot and sharp citrus. Brittle barley and edgy, grainy spices follow. Even the oak smells grainy! With time a lime conserve note appears.

Palate: Delicate and lightly creamy with barley and straw-like apricot fruit.

Finish: Good length, although the combination of wood and alcohol makes it quite drying, however it has a beautiful barley fade.

Comment: Pleasant. A little heavy on the oak, but that's just picking holes really!

Taster

Nose: Waxy orange peel and beeswax furniture polish on wood. Butterscotch sauce and treacle tart. Potpourri and dried apricots.

Palate: Grippy oak giving a pithy, malty bite and a muscular texture - like eating uncooked Christmas cake. Marmalade on toast and a hint of struck match with time.

Finish: Powerful, round and juicy, water opens subtle spice.

Comment: This was a little edgy at first, but give it time and it softens up.
