Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Fresh and bursting with sushi and ginger nut biscuits. Crisp floral notes of lily and daffodils, Spring bulbs. A shy sweetness of angelica, rhubarb and lemon curd.

Palate: Grapefruit flesh, star fruit and toasted almonds. A sprinkling of lemon sherbet and fresh lime juice. Digestive biscuits as well.

Finish: Light as a feather, clean and sprightly and up front.

Comment: A sassy dram and very assured of itself – delicious aperitif.

Score: 8.5

Taster

Nose: Wet slate and a lot of nose prickle land the first punch. Give it a moment and some freshly turned earth, rich sour cherries in bourbon and burnt sugar land the second. Water lifts out some cherry and lemon sherbet and a slightly brown melted butter.

Palate: A combo of wet oak and orange zest, leading to a bitter chocolate note and a spicy/bitter bark.

Finish: The oakiness is omnipresent, with a little vanilla keeping it company too.

Comment: Another very oaky whisky, that has perhaps been drained a little too heavily by its woody abode.
