ABV 40.9%
A well matured and complex whisky with a weakness at mid-palate. Surprisingly, a drop of water gives it a kick and spices it up.

Nose: earthy and silvestry. Pine needles, humus, a touch of porcini mushrooms. Cereals (granola). Deep and complex. Liquorice root. A perfumy note like vetiver.
Palate: Smooth and round. Rich velvet. elegantly coats the mouth. Oak is present but well integrated. Gingerbread. Just a little gap at mid-palate with a watery feel.
Finish: Drier. Soft spices. Gingerbread.
Comment: A well matured and complex whisky with a weakness at mid-palate. Surprisingly, a drop of water gives it a kick and spices it up.

Nose: Deep, dark, earthy. An open humidor, Maduro tobacco leaf. Fresh ploughed fields, mushrooms in brown paper bags. A perfume note too, aromatic.
Palate: Mellow and engaging. Rich plum pudding, dried fruits, Parkin cake, bonfire treacle toffee.
Finish: That Parkin note lingers as the whisky dries nicely.
Comment: A well put together dram, seriously complex with plenty of spice and fruit.
Score: 8.3
