Nose: Very gentle with sweetness and dying wood embers, a little light peat which builds slowly in time. Smoked herring in newspaper, cedar soap bars and wrappers. Coconut suntan lotion.
Palate: That smoked fish note comes through lightly, a beech wood smoke edge with smoked sea salt and white pepper spices.
Finish: Swift and drying, but leaning on those smoked notes and a little saline cracker.
Comment: A very gentle Islay example, sedate and restive.

Nose: Well this one’s all peachy! Peach flesh, Irn Bru bars, treacle toffees and hot vanilla custard. Then undertones of black pudding drizzled in maple syrup and struck matches.
Palate: A soft kiwi skin, cashew milk and clove covered tangerines. Burnt marshmallows, marzipan, honeysuckle and passionfruit coulis drizzled rocky roads underline the smoke.
Finish: Super light in texture and well balanced with tonnes of overripe fruits.
Comment: Washing the smoke out of your hair with fruity shampoo.
Score: 8.6
