Nose: Mossy and nutty (pecan) with soft fruits and some smoke. Slightly hard with water: tea leaves, wholemeal toast, a spicy tobacco note. A clean, quite light spirit.

Palate: Spicy and sweetly concentrated: pecan pie, ripe fruits.

Finish: Hint of smoke.

Comment: Good weight, wood is beginning to show.

Nose: Cedary. Faint hint of peat.

Palate: Orange essence, then anise.

Finish: Toasted oak. Slightly sappy. Warming. Rather astringent.

Comment: More complex than the younger vintage.
