Meyer's Whisky Alsacien

Pur Malt

ABV 40%

Obviously a maturation in very bad casks. Difficult to find the spirit (apart from a hot/burning feel) behind that nasty wood.

Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Musty. Rotten damp wood. Quite woody. Cooked vegetables. Hint of sulphur (cabbage water?).

Palate: And the taste in not different. Grippy, hot.

Finish: Hard to vanish, unfortunately.

Comment: Obviously a maturation in very bad casks. Difficult to find the spirit (apart from a hot/burning feel) behind that nasty wood.

Score: 5.7

Taster

Nose: Leaf mulch, filled humidors, a little dank mossy edge to it.

Palate: Pretty much follows the nose. Dank forest floors, that humidor note as well.

Finish: There is a spice kick here.

Comment: Hard to know whether to keep trying with this or give up.
