Rosebank Distillery (Closed 1993)
The flowery youth of the whisky and the freshness of the sherry cask achieve an interesting harmony.
1990, 8 Years Old, Sherry Cask
Nose: Sherry, honey, lemons, buttercups.
Palate: Seductively soft and honeyed, with flowery lemon and camomile emerging.
Finish: Smooth, appetising. A teasing balance of sweetness and dryness.
Comment: The flowery youth of the whisky and the freshness of the sherry cask achieve an interesting harmony.
Nose: Elegant and fluting, the soft grapes mingle in faultless harmony with the deeper malts and gentle oak. Understated and effortlessly complex.
Palate: Immediately embracing and surprisingly spicy, there is a surge of roasty malt which never succumbs to the succulent grape. Fabulous mouthfeel: slightly oily and viscous.
Finish: A buzzing of soft spices and some cocoa-vanilla notes complete an impressive act.
Comment: This is the sublime to the other's ridiculous.
