Typical Clynelish in its texture but a smokier than usual example.
Murray McDavid Mission
Nose: Light smoke with gentle soft fruits and hints of orange leaf, hot bracken, privet blossom and a maritime edge. Quite sexy.
Palate: Oily jumpers and a silky texture. Well balanced with smoke kicking in. Light.
Comment: Typical Clynelish in its texture but a smokier than usual example.
Nose: Hugely aromatic. Spicy. Mustardy.
Palate: Oily. Very lively. Extraordinarily spicy. Mustard, cumin seeds, coriander seed, Chinese parsley (cilantro).
Finish: Slightly sour, acid tang.
Comment: Spectacular aperitif. I wanted to eat a whole salmon.
