Nose

Oily, youthful and a little feinty but the coffee, toffee covers. Hints of green apple, barley and subtle sherried, dried fruit follow. Hints of herbal rye-like notes.

Palate

Fresher with more citric character. Plenty of soft but grippy, sherrywood tannins. Hints of dry, dusty, coffee and mocha come through on the middle.

Finish

Good citric finish with the alcohol clearing the dusty residue to leave a heathery and dried herbal aftertaste.\n

Comment

A little raw beneath the oak, but if left longer in the cask the oak notes might possibly have become more drying and bitter.
